All About My New Podcast!

July 26, 2020

I have been going back and forth between doing YouTube and podcasting ever since I read my favorite podcaster's (author Joanna Penn) book Audio for Authors.

But I kept waffling. I like YouTube a lot and I like podcasting too.  There are pros and cons to both mediums (more on that coming soon) and to some degree you can do both.

YouTube audio can be re-posted as a podcast and a podcast can go up on YouTube.  But even though the platforms overlap, I felt I needed to decide which would be primary.

And this week I decided on podcasting.

I will still do my same old rambly, chatty YouTube videos that some people actually (kind of surprisingly) like but I am going commit to the podcast.  Which I'll be featuring here.

I am still working out the details but I do have a theme.  I know I want to talk about creativity and the ways in which my Catholic faith informs my creative process (and how it might inform yours too).

I haven't figured out a name or decided how often I will podcast.  But I know that will come.

It is a lot to take on.

But I want to be resource for others if I can.  The creative life can be challenging!  And I have given up and walked away more times than I can count.

But I think that if I commit to this new podcast it may help keep me on track.  And while I usually save the saint quotes for my other blog, I want to share this one here:
Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it. - St. Pope John Paul II
